Share Source – Code Peer Review Application

April 27, 2010 – 1:24 pm

The final application was deployed. You might be wondering what is share source. Well, Share Source is an application that allows developers and quality assurance teams to collaborate on reviewing source codes. Currently, it specifically allows only Java source code to be reviewed. We will add more general programming languages to allowed list.

Current Production Feature List:

  • Register an account
  • Login
  • Creating Profile
  • Uploading Source Code
  • Syntax Highlighting
  • Peer Review Commenting
  • Rating Comments and Reviews
  • UI Compatibility

Every feature was on the list was developed within two weeks period, from scratch. Exception to Syntax highlighting; which we used jQuery open source library.

If you have any suggestions or comments, feel free to share. I would appreciate any feedback. Really!

Be sure to give it a try: Share Source

Syntax Highlighter for WordPress

April 24, 2010 – 4:08 pm

I was able to implement Syntax Highlighter for WordPress plugin that is available. Here is the output of the test syntax highlighting code:

ColdFusion

<cfset myTestVar = "teseting" />

Sample of Java code highlighting:

package com.android.helloandroid;

import android.app.Activity;
import android.os.Bundle;
import android.widget.TextView;

public class HelloAndroid extends Activity {
   /** Called when the activity is first created. */
   @Override
   public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
       super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
       TextView tv = new TextView(this);
       tv.setText("Hello, Android");
       setContentView(tv);
   }
}

It works out pretty well…

Android Emulator

March 18, 2010 – 11:38 pm

I have been recently developing an application for Android. The emulator that comes with Eclipse ADT, does NOT have access to google market. Google market is only allowed on mobile devices. One way of getting around the issue is by having mobile device iteself. Or, you can also try the google market on emulator available online for T-Mobile G1.

I thought this was a very useful tool to test some of the application out there. Be sure to check it out.
